The 250gb Apple hard drive in my G5 20' is going out. Sometimes it just clicks for several minutes. So I bought a Seagate 320 gb SATA drive. The problem is (and I had no idea when I bought it) that the Seagate only has two of the three cables the Apple drive does. It lacks the third one on the side. What would be the consequence of not having this third cable plugged in? And if its a bad problem what brand of drives have this third cable?

SATA drives only require two cables ... if there are three plugged in to your current one, then I'm thinking it's a Western Digital model that has both old-style Molex and new SATA power connectors -- in which case whoever did that didn't know what they were doing, as only a single power cable is required. ;-)
