I've got 3x250 gig drives on order for my MP. I'm planning on doing 2 2 drive raid 0s using the OS X software raid. The first logical volume will be for boot and storage, the second will be scratch, backup and storage of things that I don't need backed up. I'd like to get boot camp setup on the machine, though which presents a bit of a problem. With the following assumptuons

- I'm assuming that boot camp won't work on a raid setup. If its software raid, the logical drives will *only* be accessible under OS X.

- I've read about slipstreaming the intel raid drivers, but this is just to combat the slow SATA performance issue and won't actually give XP access.

- There's no way for OS X to access the hardware raid controller on the chipset.

So what I'm thinking is putting a PATA or SATA (I have both lying around) drive in the optical bay. Will Boot Camp recognize or "bless" a drive in that bay? Has anyone seen a guide for routing SATA cables to that bay? I see where the extra sata connector on the MB is, but I don't see where power would come from.

Thoughts or ideas?

-Xy
