I know the new ones were just released, but I have some time before I actually get one. I'll end up waiting until Leopard comes out, but does anyone think Apple will release new iMacs around the Leopard release?

This sounds about right, but if Apple targets the end of March to release Leopard, then it could be one or two months after that.

I say get it when you need it. If you need it now, get it now. If not, wait til' you need it.

Well no matter what i'm waiting until computers start shipping with Leopard. I was just wondering what everyone thought about them releasing new iMacs around the same time. Anyway, hopefully they do and that is that. thank you all.

Hi,
I would wait for Leopard too if I thought it would be a matter of a couple of months. I think it will be longer than a few months. Apple hasn't committed to any date yet. I think we will have to wait until MacWorld in January of 2007 just to find out a firm ship date. At that point, I expect the announced ship date to be sometime in the spring of 2007.
I personally need to get a new Mac before then. If you can wait, I can understand wanting to have Leopard pre-installed.

Since I'll buy the family pack when Leopard hits the streets because of multiple Macs I went ahead and ordered my 24" iMac now and intend to enjoy it.
