What would you pay for a used Mac Pro 2.66? bare bones, no extras just Mac Pro wired keyboard and mouse, education discount bought, from a private seller locally no need to ship
they say they have the box and all the DVD's and adapters it came with along with manuals
I know someone selling one just need to know what i should quote them.
I was thinking 2000$
They want 2400$
I think thats ridiculous for 90$ more i could get one straight from apple with my edu
What would you pay?

The student price is $2300, not $2490... I'd offer $2200 as a best-and-last.

I agree it is ridiculous. There is a large penalty for used gear unless the seller is family or close friend. Also anyone selling a MP this quickly may be selling stolen or otherwise unclean gear. Personally I would offer US$1700-1800 if the seller can prove legal provenance.

I agree. Why would you buy it used when you can get it brand new for the same price. Even if his price didn't include sales tax, I'd gladly buy something new and pay the sales tax for it. You don't have the hassle of dealing with a private sale.

Cars lose a good 20% just getting driven off the lot, Fair would be to say purchase price less 13% ( apple restock is 15% )
