My wife has had an emac fo a few years now, and since i had my own PC i didn't have much use for her emac. She uses it for the graphics program and internet. But we have recently moved it to an area that i find myself using quite often, and i have noticed an issue with it. Some programs while running are not showing all of the screen, meaning that a section of the program is blank where i know there should be graphics, and until i go into that area and scroll or click nothing is shown. Once the graphics appear you have to keep moving around by either scrolling or clicking to keep it refreshed. Has anyone seen problems like this before?

Hardward:
eMac
800 MHz G4
768 MB ram
OS 10.2.8
hard drive has about 25 GB free

Any ideas?

Apple - Support - eMac Repair Extension Program for Video and Power Issues

See if your eMac falls in the serial number range.

my emac does not fall into this category. I don't have a problem all of the time, just with certain programs, such as Quark, Adobe illustrator, and Limewire that i have found.

I would suggest you re-install the OS.

do you think i should go back to a fresh install of OS X 10.0 and then patch back up to 10.2.8?

You can't get 10.0 to 10.2.8. You have to install 10.2 and then patch it up to 10.2.8, but yes, try a re-install.
