I ususally run mhy MP with two monitors: the 24" and 21 " samsung out of one card the stock NVIDIA with 256RAM

some times I connect the larger monitor to a G4Dual as it has the HDTV card for watching HDTV, leaving the MP with the 21"

I now have 3GB RAM

it sweems that MacPar2 runs much faster repairing checksums this way, while doing the same amount of other work ( donwloading, browsing etc)

granted it may be a case of less work to do in reparing the checcksums in unique cases but the machine feels much less sluggish this way

no games or other intense video work is being done

sounds very odd to me and I can't prove it but its a very real effect I sense

cheers

I cant see how it would speed up checksums.

It will however speed up graphic related processes as the whole 256mb vid ram is allocated to one screen and not split over two.
I free'd my mind... now it won't come back.
