Does Boot Camp 1.1.1 allow Windows to run on the MacPro? I had read that there was a problem putting Windows on the MacPro, something to do with the drive but I'd like to know if the Boot Camp 1.1.1 update solved the problem. Also is it possible to run Vista on the MacPro as opposed to XP?

Supposedly, as Windows XP does not support EFI, Boot Camp need to emulate the SATA drivers or something, which makes hard drive access disgustingly slow.

I don't know if it affects everyone or whether they fixed it in 1.1.1.

If it doesn't fix the problem, a solution can be found here.

bootcamp 1.1.1 does not address the SATA issue and so disk access if going to be slow on the MacPro

Unless you sliptream the install... which apparently works... I am in the middle of making my slipstream disk now...

There's some solutions being floated about and they all involve slipstreaming. Right now I'll hold off and wait until Apple provides an update - I'm in no hurry to run windows.

Thanks for the info. I was going to inquire about this. Guess I will slipstream the install and reformat.
To be determined later.
