So I just read someone's post and they were speculating that when Jobs announces Leopard, he's gonna package it with an upgraded iMac. I'm not much of an Apple Historian, so does anyone know if he did this with the releases of other OSs?

I've been wanting to get a 24 iMac soon, but hearing this has made me come to a screeching halt!

My guess is that Macworld (in January) will focus on Leopard and iTV, with speed bumped MacBooks. Maybe even brand new towers if they don't get them out before Christmas.

But if you need a new Mac now, buy one. The iMacs were just released and new ones wont be around for at least 6 months or more.

But this would not be that kind of change, at worst they will make the switch to the Santa Rosa platform at that time, pretty logical actually, it won't be a huge huge improvment over the current ones. And as it has been said, if you need a new mac now, get it, they've just been updated and new ones won't be out until spring at the earliest.

you know it's hard to decide because I'm buying a computer for a future operating system . . . and who knows how fast the new operating system is going to run on a "older machine" . . .

upgrading sucks!

In the last MacWorld podcast they talked a ton about the iTV going on sale possibly at MacWorld... maybe MacWorld knows about it.

There is always a new computer, and a new operating system just over the horizon. If you need one buy one, it is only the "latest greatest" for a short time after you get it out of the box.
