Here's the history, would appreciate any technical help.
- brand spanking new 24" iMac with 7600 graphics card and 500GB hard drive and factory installed 1GB RAM.

- purchased OWC 2GB RAM to upgrade and have successfully (so I think) installed the RAM into the appropriate slots at the base of the screen.
- plugged power cord back into the back and powered up, only to receive a rapidly flashing power light.

I'm not really sure why and would like to get my computer back up and running. If nothing comes of this post, I'll probably just reinstall factory RAM and get on the phone to OWC

Thanks for info,

You need to re-seat the RAM you added. You have to push really, really HARD on it.

Just wondering. Did any of you take a look at the graphics card? Would be nice to know if the rumour that it's MXM is a rumour or not

Thanks to jclarkv!!!
Took off the perforated RAM panel and the RAM sticks looked like they could've almost fallen out of their slots. Reinserted the sticks and everything works great. Always interesting times pushing hard on RAM sticks...makes me squeamish. But it worked.
As to checking the graphics card, is this something I can do through About This Mac, or do I have to dig deep into the case? Not going to if it requires more internal probing via the case. Sorry.
