RAM prices are like gas prices. It's all about supply and demand. If there isn't enough supply to meet demand, price goes up. If there is oversupply, price goes down. And like gas prices, RAM prices change faster than you can drive to the mall and back.

yup. the prices have gone up significantly, across the board. even the generic ram at newegg went up from roughly $75-80 after rebates to $100-$110 after rebates. an increase of 25% is pretty significant. kinda like gas prices going up from $2.40 to $3.00 (also a 25% increase).
which is funny, because there is another member on macnn forums who has been saying for the past couple months that ram prices are going to plummet as the holidays roll around because he has a friend in the ram business. While i hope they go down, i don't think they'll get down to the levels that he was predicting (roughly $50 for 1gb).

Yep.. RAM supply and demand has gone up since people are upgrading their systems since Intel released new processors. People are also upgrading in preparation for Vista.
