So I was given a PowerMac G4(400Mhz AGP) for free. And I wanted to get wifi on it, but it did not come with an airport card because of the costs (my uncle, who gave it to me, didnt want to pay for it so he got a belkin usb). Only problem is, he gave away the usb wifi dongle before giving me the computer. So i did some research and went out and bought a Netgear WG111..only to find out that i was mistaken for the WG3. Since I went off my moms money, she was kind of pissed since we have a new wifi dongle just laying around. Can anyone please tell me an effective, low cost [preferably] wifi card for my mac. It could be PCI or USB, I just need one that'll work

Thanks!
AJ

try about 10X that... they are not cheap...

plug the damn thing into a wireless router, with an ethernet cable...... I really have no idea if you can use it that way... maybe an access point?

Original AirPorts run ~$50 on eBay. However, if you are running WPA on the main wireless then you can not go the original AirPort route. Get a wireless router that will work as a WDS off your main wireless.

Sure you can. I use a standard AirPort card in my Pismo and it connects to my WPA2 network just fine, because WPA/WPA2 support is in the drivers, not the hardware. Tiger supports WPA2 and lower just fine.
