Does anyone know if there is a major performance difference between the 128 and 256 vram cards in the new 20" imac? I've been looking for this discussion but everyone seems focused on the 24" model.
Ultimately, it's still the same card. If you will be frequently spanning across two monitors, you might want the extra VRAM because that splits it in two.
How do they compare when it comes to gaming? I'll likely want to play Halo and UT and I hope that the 256 version will greatly outperform the 128 card. Especially considering that I just ordered the iMac from the Apple site. I hope the extra money wasn't a waste.
I doubt that the memory makes a huge difference but when running at higher res and as games are beginning to hog more and more vram i think it was proably worth it, at a minimum for the sake of longevity.
