Just bought a refurb 17" iMac Core Duo from UK Apple store (has ATI graphics) and

1 - Installed Bootcamp, windows device manager shows 2 unknown devices and a PCI device - is this normal?

2 - Saving to desktop shows nothing until I logout and login again - even though Spotlight sees the files and will open them. It says they are at User/Account/Desktop but they don't actually show on the desktop.

3 - Safari (but not Firefox) seems to hang sometimes on various sites ranging from Apple.com to theinquirer.net. Any ideas?

Other than those annoyances I love this iMac

PS - Have done the usual reset/check permissions etc

1- Are you sure that you have all drivers installed properly? That is usually an indication that the driver is not installed for the device.

2 and 3-I don't know. I like Camino.

Have answered number one - it seems to be entirely normal - a search using the words 'bootcamp unknown device' in Google yields enough results to show it's a common problem.

The other two questions seem to have solved themselves (altho I did point the default download directory to Documents and then back to Desktop).
