First off, thanks in advance to all who try and help me here. It's really appreciated.

So I bought a used 1.5 core solo mini and a 2ghz Core2Duo Merom to upgrade it with. All went well upgrading the unit, after some frustrating moments, as the processor registers in the about system panel and shows up correctly.

BUT, I now have two issues.

1) The processor temperature sensor does not seem to be responding. I don't know why this is as I left it attached to the heatsink the whole time, so I don't understand how this happened.

2) Only 256mb of ram is showing up. There are 2 x 256mb chips in this machine (for the moment) and both showed up before the upgrade. I even went back and reseated both chips (swapping their spots) and still only 256mb shows up. Is the graphics card somehow pulling more than its supposed to now?

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated as I'm at my wits end here and might just go back to status quo and resell everything.

Thanks!

Hate to say it, but all bets are off if you exchange the processor. Try putting the original processor back in to see if you have the same problems. Since this is a used machine, did you even check that it worked properly before swapping the processor? If things work fine with the original processor, there's no guarantee that the system will work entirely correctly with a different one. Apple specifically designs their machines to not be upgraded, so there is no predicting what will happen with a chip that the machine may not recognize.
