I don't think you can off the top of my head. I remember that for the external isights there was a site that detailed how to add a wide angle lens to it.

There is no built in zoom function for iSights. I would imagine that there is some sort of software hack for zooming, but thats just an assumption.

I wouldn't be surprised if the next version of the iSight has some sort of limited hardware zoom.

If there was a software solution to "zooming" it would be digital zoom - not optical zoom. You can't modify the focal length on a fixed camera lens, particularly a tiny *low end* built in camera in a computer bezel. Digital zoom won't look very good either. Sit closer to your mac or buy an external camera... the iSight wasn't meant to be a far-reaching solution for video conferencing, simply a nice convenience for most users who sit close to their displays. I can't imagine sitting farther away from the 24" than the iSight camera can capture your picture and still have a pleasurable viewing experience. With a 24" screen you shouldn't be sitting more than 36" away from it (1.5x screen size on flat panel displays). This rule also works for home theater setups (that is its main purpose). CRT monitors you can sit 3x screen distance.

The original iSight does not have optical zoom, but I believe a 3rd party makes a wide angle lens you can physically attach to the housing of the camera. The lens does NOT have optical zoom, it's not a complicated lens! It's simply a pinhole camera!!!

iREZ- Yes that is ideal but who wants a big miniDV camera on their desk (and a minitripod to hold it up to face level)... you could do that but it'd be a pain and an eyesore.
