Medium Write error? Help cant burn cds

I have a quicksilver 733mhz with 512 ram and i just tried to burn a cd for the first time since i got the computer but itunes says medium write error. I have I have tiger 10.4.8 and the latest version of itunes. Can someone help me out?

Have you tried again? Has the disc you tried to use been ruined?

Yes we tried 2 disks and it still did not work.

HAs the disc you tried been ruined? That is to say, if you bring it to another computer with a CD burner, will it work?

My father is having the same problem buring discs in iTunes on his MacBook Pro. We have an external drive that will burn the same discs without a problem.

Any ideas? Does this sound like a hardware or software issue?

Maybe it is cheap discs. I am not entirely sure. Perhaps someone knows. Maybe it is a buffer underrun, but I doubt that.
