Corsair 1GB PC2-5300 DDR2 Laptop RAM for $105 - dealmac.com

It says 667mhz. $105 shipped. I don't know anything about the company so I probably wouldn't take the chance but it seems to me this may indicate prices for iMac RAM may start falling.

Any thoughts?

I paid $113 (tax incl.) CAD for my 1 GB stick 3 months ago, then the prices rose. It was also a Corsair, and works perfectly, although it is a second stick, as the first was faulty and had to be sent back.

In general, DDR2 prices are falling and DDR prices are rising. That is, until they just stop selling DDR.

About 5 months ago, I bought two sticks of 1GB ram for my iNtel iMac and only paid $75 each. Today, you can't find a stinck for under $100. Crazy! (It was no-brand RAM, but works great.)

I hope prices take a dive. I was looking to get a 1gb stick from newegg a couple months ago. The price was going up and down by a few dollars every day and occasionally they'd offer free shipping. Well it really wasn't a matter of needing the ram at the time, I just wanted it.

One night I checked the link and it was as low as I'd ever seen it, 71.99 + free shipping. I was going to order but, the lazy individual that I am, I'd left my wallet in. my glovebox and didn't want to go outside to get my credit card.

Well the next day it was up to like 84.99 + 5 shipping and it just kept going up, up, up. Its been at 104.99 + 5 shipping for a solid month now.

And now its a matter of needing it. I'm running more and more things that I was and my mini is taxed out at 512mb. I just looked yesterday and the price had fallen by $10 at least. Hope for further drops.

DDR2 prices are still high as well, because of increase demand before the holiday buying season. They will likely stay high for a while and drop some time after Christmas.
