That is a little vague for me to say much to help, but it sounds like your computer is wasted.

Why the poll?

Hmm, poll options are help and help.

Try booting from the DVD.

I voted "help."

Try holding down command+s at startup, then when it dets done churning through the text and you get a prompt, type

/sbin/fsck -yf

then hit return.

When it's done, it'll tell you if it fixed anything. To get out of the text screen (Known as single-user mode) type exit, and hit return.

What an informative poll. Tuoder, CDs are wonderfully fragile and break easily. Bubbles, I would suggest reinstalling the OS, which of course you must purchase since you have broken it.

I dunno. Go buy an OS X retail install disk and do an archive and install? I guess you'll have to decide whether your files are worth $129.00 or not.

I don't know exactly what it is, but something about the thread seems weird to me. Never mind.

um... are you sure you are not on the desktop when it goes to the blank blue "page"?

also.. WTF? you said that when it boots, it tells you to restrart(called a kernel panic). but when you go into open firmware and type mac-boot it works? your two statments dont really match.

could you take some pictures and put them on ImageShack® - Hosting and then give us the link?

It is of the quality of spam, but is not spam (at least the original post seems that way to me). Also, people actually are bothering to help under these conditions.

Choose "Archive & Install" from the options on the install disk, and make sure "preserve users & settings" is checked. That way, if your data isn't hosed already, it'll still be there after the re-install.

And when you're done, put some sort of back-up plan into action.

Rock on. Now, get yourself a backup plan going, there. My fave is to mirror EVERYTHING on an external drive.

Yes. Do nothing different. What problems have you had with discs that you brought from a PC to a Mac?
