The little roller-ball on my mouse quit working properly a couple of weeks ago. Left, Right, and UP all work - but DOWN is dead. This is an intel iMac that I purchased from amazon in July.

Is there anything I can do? Or should I just call Apple?

Just to report back. Cleaned the ball as described and it is instantly fixed. Many thanks!

Hey, I'll give that a try, I've had the iMac since June and have changed the mouse 4 times already and the little trackball is giving me problems again. Good thing I bought an extended warranty that permits me to exchange anything deffective with the system.

I was just about to post a thread asking what would be the best replacement mouse (preferably Bluetooth aand rechargeable), even though the store exchanges it every time, it's a pain...

Wonder why Apple didn't design this thing a bit better...
