The wife got a 24" iMac with the stock 2-512MB sticks. Can I just get a 1GB or 2GB stick? Would that seriously degrade performance, or what's the dual-channel business? She lives in Photoshop, everything else has been a massive upgrade from the old 17" 1.25GHz iMac (bleh).

Thoughts, etc. (generic vs. "name-brand" as critical as laptops, etc.)?
