hello, i receved my lovely new mac pro and cinema display today and i am delighted, i am absolutely blown away by the preformance! cs2 is great, even under rosetta..

however, my only slight problem is concerning the noise, the fan noise is fine (just a nice quiet hum) but there is a growling noise when it is loading, the kind of noise you get with all computers(HD i think), its just it does seem a little loud, i just wanted to know if this i normal. (maybe it is becuase its late, and my house is silent and i have no telly or music on ) or maybee due to the fact i am coming from an imac which was silent.

it certainly dosent sound like it has anything wrong with it if you know what i mean.

i really dont wanna go opening it up either ( i can change RAM ect but an not really to confident with the insides of computers)

anyway i would really appreciate some advice, just to put my mind at ease really,
im prob just being paranoid hehe

Hello there fellow Mac Pro owner...
There is a simple answer and a simple solution...

Cause: It's the HD, no doubt about it and the location of it

Answer: Shut down the machine, open the side, and either just swap the HD #1 bay with the HD #4 bay, or if you don't want the numbers to be switched up, just remove the HD from #1 and attach it to the #4 slider. When you start it now, you will still be able to hear it a little bit but probably about <25% of what it used to be, maybe less. Enjoy!
