Mac Pro stopped going to sleep

I need my mac pro to go to sleep to enable the VT-X technology (so parallels runs faster). This tricked worked each time I rebooted. Now, the Mac does not go to sleep when I force it to. Any ideas?

(BTW - parallels actually suggests that I put the mac to sleep to turn the vt-x on - if anyone knows of a different way, I am all ears).
