I recently bought an external Maxtor firewire drive for the mini. The strange thing is that when I install OSX on the Maxtor, I cannot get WiFi to work. It works right after the installation where my Network is detected and I enter my Apple username/password. It even works once I'm on the OSX desktop however the WiFi icon on the top is empty and when you move your mouse to it, it says Airport card not connected. However, after rebooting the second time, I no longer have WiFi and if I click on the Airport Configuration Utility, I get a message saying that Airport is not installed.
However, If I use my internal 2.5"" drive, I have NO problems whatsoever. Airport works fine. I've tried formatting the drive and re-installing OSX on the external drive and again, it works for the first time with the icon showing that its not configured but after a reboot, I no longer have Wifi.
Help!!
