I own a Mac Mini that I want to reconfigure for my son, replacing his old iMac.
Sooo, I pulled out the Mini's install discs and went to do a clean install of 10.4, and then use the nifty software to suck my son's accounts from his iMac over to the clean Mini. (Just as I've done with my PowerBooks numerous times now.)
However, when I boot the Mini holding down the "C" to start from the install disk, it comes up like normal, asks me what language, I answer English and continue, and then it tells me:
"Alert"
"This software cannot be installed on this computer."
I only own one Mac Mini... so I know this is the install discs that came with it...
QUESTIONS:
Any idea why the software would be refusing to install?
Any way to work around this?
Any way to leave the Mini as-is, but re-invoke the "suck accounts from another mac" software?
Thanks!
