Hi, I am thinking to buy a mac mini for my mother in law in Japan from US apple store, and I am wondering If I would have any problem with voltage or different type of outlet. I don't know what type of power outlet they use in Japan. Could anyone please point me to the right direction? Thank you very much
Thanks for the quick answer. I just check the website.
US is using 60Hz power outlet, and Part of the tokyo where in law lives uses 50Hz. Is it gonna make any difference here. Both place uses same voltage, just different frequency.
I am an idiot when it comes to this type of thing.
The outlets are the same, but Japan uses different voltage than the US. When I went there, all my stuff worked just fine, but I've heard it can mess up some equipment. I wouldn't risk a $500 computer on it. You can get a voltage converter.

I believe Japan uses NTSC-J .. almost the same as NTSC alone, but still it is different. Then again, everything there should be going by now with HDTV.
