I am looking for a third party setup that can fit the most amount of hard drives into a mac pro tower. Like 6-10 drives total with adequate cooling.

I have seen weibetech had a G5 solution for adding more drives, just haven't found anything for the new intel mac pro designs.

Anything out there?

Also, has anyone setup 4x drives internally and more drives via esata and Raid 0 the entire thing? (like 6-10 drives total in raid 0)? How was the performance?

Well I don't know about 10 drives, but here is Maxupgrades expansion kit that allows 6-8 total drives in the MacPro. You'll lose both optical drives and have a bit of a cable clutter mess, but you'll have the drives. The 8 drive setup looks a bit cramped for adequate cooling too.

yeah 10 would be ultimate

I have looked inside the mac pro case and there should be a way to add at least 2 directly underneath the middle hard drives by replacing the single drive holder rail, with a double tall one... and running the bottom drive to a sata port on the pci card... you might even be able to fit 3 doubles in there, MAYBE 4... it would impede a bit of air flow, but you could up the fan speed and add 3rd party extra cooling... doable.

anyone got any mods from other sites? would LOVE to get 10 drives in there.
