There used to be much more discussion around the topic of where Apple was going in the living room. There was some interesting speculation about the Mac Mini being the main hub. It has a good enough video card to playback 1080p.

Apple is working on UDI as an alternative video connection to HDMI, which would be a great feature for the Mac Mini. That would be the ideal video connection for the living room.

It also seems like the Mac Mini is in desperate need of an updated processor and larger hard drive.

Any speculation?
