For some reason my G4 digital Audio keeps opening it's cd-rom drive everytime I reboot my box.

I tried reseting the motherboard and that does not seem to work. Any ideas?

ok, calm down... you can do a couple of things, like:

1) Start up into Open Firmware by pressing and holding the Command-Option-O-F key combination during startup.
At the Open Firmware prompt, type: reset-nvram
Press Return.
When prompted for your password, enter it and press the Return key. It responds OK.
At the Open Firmware prompt, type: reset-all
Press Return.

2) (this is less risky) unplug the machine from the wall for 30 minutes... and that's it... I don't know why but it works fine!

Reboot, unplug the mouse and see if it doesn't pop out.

I know it's an issue with the older G4s while using a wireless keyboard/mouse. This is because during boot the mouse sends a signal to the computer to let the computer know that it's there. Unfortunately, this signal happens to be a mouse-click, which under OS X (or Macs in general, I believe) tells the OS to eject all media, i.e. your DVD tray.

At my work, we had a graphite G4 with a Logitec wireless keyboard/mouse combo, and it would eject the CD/DVD combo drive every time it booted up. Unfortunately, I don't recall how that was fixed...
