Hi,

I was wondering how easy it is to add RAM to the 20" iMac (ie, replacing the two 512mb chips with two 1gb chips) and the Graphics Card (ie, replacing the 128mb card with a 256mb or higher)? Is this possible? Also, how much RAM and graphics memory can the iMac handle?

Thanks

If you mean the Intel iMac, the answer is:
RAM: easy, on the bottom. 2GB Max for CD. 3GB max for C2D
Graphics Card: No upgrade possible. No one has figured out how to change the 128MB VRAM to 256MB VRAM. There is no video "card" that is removable.

256MB VRAM is the max you can order an iMac with.

IF you have a G5 iMac (depending on what revision) and all intels are replaced on the bottom of the LCD. If its an early iMac then follow the DIY on apples support page. BAsically turn the 3 screws on the bottom and take the back cover off.

Video is on the board and can not be changed in any mac that is new unless you have a tower
