I took my G5 to my mom's house during the holidays because I'm super paranoid. When I plugged everything in, I noticed that no sound was coming out. I checked the Sound preferences and under "play alerts and sound effects through: line out" it's all greyed out. Same if I were to unplug the speakers, "internal speakers" would be greyed out as well. All the volumes are all raised to the top so I don't understand what's happening.
OK, duh, my speakers weren't plugged in. But the same thing is happening with the internal speakers. No sound, even when selected and option is greyed out. If I do have to replace the speakers, is it costly? Something I could do myself? Thanks.
