I was just reading a thread over at macrumors.com about the slow write speeds of the seagate drives in the mac pro, and about an updated firmware that supposedly fixes it.

They say that it's 3.AAE.

When I look in system profiler, my startup disc (Seagate 7200.10) says it's firmware is 3.AAC.

My second drive says 3.AAE. And my third drive which is 7200.9 says 3.BQH.

How do I update these all to the latest firmware versions? Nothing shows up in Software Update.

Thanks.

You'd have to look to Seagate for a firmware update, not Apple. But I don't think the drive firmware is up-datable. See http://www.seagate.com/support/kb/di...mware_rev.html
