I have a new iMac with an intel core 2 duo processor. I have a Shure 8900 mic, and I have a fast track USB connector by M-Audio. I can't get the mic to work.
I have gone into system preferences > sound > input, and I selected the fast track input, but it is not picking up the sound through the mic. It is still picking up the sound through the built-in internal mic in the iMac.
It seems as if I somehow need to just turn off this internal mic. It seems to be overriding the external mic. However, the other issue may be that the fast track devices is somehow not inputting properly.
One final note -- I have already tried using the regular mic input (as opposed to using this USB interface), and had the same result.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
