Ok so I stupidly purchased high-density RAM for my iMac without completely reading the specs and it's due to arrive in a few days. My question is this: since the iMac takes low-density RAM, do I need to return it and get a new chip or will it work in the comp? Thanks.

BTW, this is an iMac G5 Rev. A.

more info... what did you buy, have a link, or want to post specs?

need to see the size and layout info (512mb, 32x8, 64x8, and number of chips).

picking memory is tricky. picking wrong sucks. hope it all works out right.

I think the G5s can take high-density RAM, it was just the G4s that couldn't.

Anyway, put it in, and see what the result is.

Next time, buy Crucial - Apple iMac upgrades from Crucial.com

128M x 64 -Bit (Made With 128x4)

Says it will work but may be a tight fit. I contacted the seller and he said he'll gladly swap out chips if it doesn't work. Thanks!

Tight fit? All DDR2 modules are pretty tight in their slots.
