I have an imac that is acting really stupid. I just installed OS10.3 and am having display issues.

-sometimes I have no display
-sometimes I have a horrible color/"pincushion/trapezoid" issue
-once and a while I get a console "login" screen
-also the date/time is screwy

I think the pram battery will fix the time, but what about the display? any ideas what else I can try?

Sounds like a loose connection somewhere inside the machine.
