Not sure if this has been posted before by someone else, but occasionally I can't get my PM to go to sleep when I try to do it manually. I always make sure any powered peripherals are unplugged. Restarting usually solves the problem, but it's a pain because I normally put my PM to sleep when I go to bed. Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks

You mean the manual sleep doesn't work?
Or it doesn't wake up?

that's odd...
Have you done anything to the system lately? or installed any new app?
In the meantime, you can always change the energy prefs so that it goes to sleep automatically...

I keep the automatic sleep pref off, because I work with Pro Tools, which doesn't support sleep mode. Also, in the past, when trying to set my system to sleep automatically, the PM still won't sleep. And I haven't done anything new to the system lately.

AH!

So you mean the mac doens't sleep when the Pro Tools is open?
Have you got any digidesign Hardware connected when that happens?

No, it's just that Pro Tools won't work if you allow your computer to go to sleep during a session. Pro Tools is always closed when I try to put my PM to sleep manually.

Thanks

I see...
The same (sleep problem) happened to me on a powerbook, and I don't know what I did exactly to revert it to the "normal" state...

Have you tryed repairing the permissions (disk utility)?
or maybe zap the PRAM?
(these are routine test-to-solve)

Thanks for all of the replies, by the way. I recently zapped the PRAM and repaired permissions.
This problem hasn't occurred in a few days, so it's some kind of weird bug. I suppose I could read my log files to see if there's an error message...

maybe the problem was solved when either reparining the perm. or zapping the PRAM...
To be honest, I could never understand the *real* issue by reading the logs...

I don't either. I can never decipher them.
