I am running the Core Duo 20" imac with 10.4.8.

I have recently did a fresh install and the first time I launched photobooth, my isight camera went dark, really dark. It is still working and the little green light is on. If I shine a light on the camera, I can see the light, however it is no good for taking pictures. It is dark in delicious library as well. I have rebooted, zapped the pram, removed the photobooth preference .plist.

The apple discussion boards seem to show a common theme of this happening. No obvious solution though.

Any ideas?
Cheers

If you had boot camp installed before you reinstalled OSX, that might be the problem. I had a similar problem and when I reinstalled boot camp the isight worked fine. It had something to do with firmware and boot camp working together or something.

It's happened to me a couple of times. Both times, I unplugged the power cord from the wall, pressed the power button to discharge any residual electricity and the plugged it back in and booted. Came right back to life.
