I got a 17" intel iMac refurbished from apple today and everything works fine with no problems but when booting it shows the darwin info like as if I pressed -v on boot (but didnt). Can anyone tell me how to hide this its somewhat annoying. Thanks.

thanks for all your replies!! All it took to fix it was to reset the PRAM, so if anyone has this problems theres the solution, dont hold your breath on getting a reply.

Hi I just saw this post...what is the darwin info? I'm asking because on my 20" imac I get a loginb password request sometimes 1 or sometimes 4 times ( random I know) - this is after I have logged into the account ( admin account) Which basically then means I have to enter my main admin password again ( and again etc)

It is annoying and I don't know how to fix it.

Not holding breath for a reply - but one would be helpful

Also - how to reset PRAM on this machine?

How odd. I'm a Mac tech, and I've setup more macs that I can possibly imagine, and just the other day I was working on a machine for the first time when it was booting in verbose mode. A PRAM reset fixed the issue, but I had never seen that out of the box before.

Now I hear it's happening elsewhere... I wonder if there's a kink in Apple's production methods?

I take it that "verbose mode" shows all the details about Darwin, etc? That would make a lot of sense; thanks for the input, GSixZero.

100plus1, I think the reason that nobody replied was that we were all wondering just what you meant by "darwin txt" in your original post. I know I was waiting for more information... Sorry you felt slighted.
