Is there something I can do to correct the quality of the DVD playback? I have the 256mg graphic-card, and I was under the assumption that the video would look sharper. I have tryed superbit DVD's with no inprovement. Anyone have any ideas?

The amount of VRAM has zero to do with video playback quality.

Try playing them with VLC media player.

Thank's mduell, I'll give it try! I’m just a little baffled because when I play a slide-show in iPhoto the full screen pictures look stunning. I realize I’m comparing an apple to an orange, but I thought the video playback would be comparable! Maybe I’m use just to my Hi-Def 720p Samsung LCD TV and my Sony up-converting DVD player.

Comparing the display of a lightly compressed 5 megapixel image (just a guess) to a heavily compressed 0.3 megapixel image isn't terribly meaningful.

If the DVD really looks like VHS, there's something weird going on. If it doesn't look as good as still photographs, well duh.

You can't create any more quality than already exists. It should look the same on your TV and iMac.
