I'm seeing all kinds of "Radeon 9600" 's out there on Ebay,
some with fans, some without.
128, and 256.
9800, 9600, x800
v11 & v51.
some with DVI, VGR and Svideo

for my G5 Dual 2.0 (april '05), what am I limited to?
The repair guy says I'll have to wait awhile for a new Radeon 9600 and it will
cost $230. I see the "same" cards going for $30 - $50.

Should I upgrade? What should I be looking for? THANKS!

I'd sure love to be Leopard-ready, so I don't mind spending. But not throwing my money away!

You probably know you need a card that is Mac compatible. Most all of the cards you'll find on eBay have been flashed to be Mac compatible, and some of them don't run properly due to having the wrong specifications. If you're going to go the eBay route, Caveat emptor. I've been looking at the x800 as a possible upgrade from my 9800XT, but they're out of stock everywhere.
