Hello,

I plan on purchasing an iMac 20" soon and noticed the graphics card I would choose is the 256 ATI Radeon. I've always had an nVidia graphics card for my PC and never had a problem and have heard they are better for PCs. Now, I don't plan to do much gaming maybe a little on the iMac if I buy it, so just wondering if a 256MB ATI Radeon card is good or should I buy the iMac 24" as it has a nVidia card. Basically wondering what brand is better for a graphics card for the iMac.

The brand doesn't really matter, but the 7600GT is 70 to 160% faster than the X1600 according to the benchmarks at Barefeats.

Thanks for the reply, it's helpful except I don't play many games and probably will only have 1 or 2 games installed on the iMac if I buy one so just wondering if I would really need the 24" iMac or if the 20" would be fine for my needs which is general web surfing, instant messaging, email, and that's really about it.

Yes. 20" is awesome. Sounds like it would more than suit your needs. I have a G5 20" and really enjoy it. Can't wait to someday upgrade to the intel version.
