So my iMac came with iLife installed on it, but I am about to reformat my drive and start fresh from the restore disk that came with my mac. Will iLife be restored, or will I have to go out and buy iLife after the re-format?

It's not a "restore" DVD. You get the whole OS. If I remember correctly, the programs are on a separate disc. My MBP came with two DVDs, so I think disc #2 is the programs. Anyway, you should be able to reload everything that came on your computer from the discs they provided.

I can confirm what ghporter said. Mac OS X is on Disc 1, and iLife and related apps are on disc 2.
