I have a Mac Mini ; these are the specs:
CPU Type: PowerPC G4 (1.2)
Number Of CPUs: 1
CPU Speed: 1.25 GHz
L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB
Memory: 256 MB
Bus Speed: 167 MHz
Boot ROM Version: 4.8.9f1

I'm running OS 10.3.9

Out of the blue yesterday, my CD drive sucks the CD in, makes crazy sounds, and then spits it back out. I don't know why it's doing this! Although, if I put a blank CD in, it wil detect it after about 30 seconds of crazy sounds; but then if I try to burn something, it fails and ejects the CD. What could I do to fix this?

It's probably the disc, not the drive. My mini hates the cheap&nasty you can buy at Tescos.


Try a better brand - I like datawrite stuff.

I dont think it's that.. It will spit out any cd; not just burned ones... Even the Comcast CD (closest thing laying around) was spit out.. any ideas?
