I have a G4 Gigabit Ethernet, which about two weeks ago wouldn't power up. When the button was pressed it would light up briefly, but that was it. I reset the PMU, which appeared to resolve the problem though I noticed that the power switch LED would flicker as the machine powered up.

A few days later the problem returned so I bought a new PRAM battery. This hasn't made any difference. Every 3 days or so the computer will not power up unless the PMU is reset. Could this be due to the power supply? Is it in the process of failing?

It does sound like the power supply is failing, especially since the power light is flickering.
