Is there any software or haxie that allows you to disable the powerbutton throbbing while it sleeps?
It lights up my whole room and is very annoying.

A book, magazine, or newspaper works wonders if it bothers you that much.

Mine adjusts to the brightness level in the room. I think the apple logo below the screen on iMac detects the brightness. Maybe you can just cover that up.

What iMac is it? If it is a G5 or higher update the software and install the "Sleep Light Updater". Then the sleep light will darken after 8:30 pm.

2nd gen G5 iMacs and later have an ambient light sensor that will adjust the brightness of the light depending on the ambient light in the room. 1st gen G5 iMacs don't, but you can install the Firmware update on them to make the brightness of the light vary with the time of day. As long as the system time is set correctly, your iMac is really only waking you when you're supposed to be up anyway...

Other than this, the tape works nicely.
