i have an intel core 2 duo 20" imac

So i load a cd/dvd etc. it then takes it in and makes all these noticeably loud mechanical like sounds as the disc slides in and gets in place...

only thing is that when i first bought the mac it wasn't making those sounds and i rarely use the drive (maybe once or twice every two weeks?)

i dont push anything in there too hard so my question is... is the drive damaged somehow? are those sounds normal for most of you? does it occur normally over time?

i mean i dont really know how far is the cd supposed to be pressed in... half way? a quarter of the way? i cant really tell since usually by the time the drive is taking the cd im still hanging on to it til it is inside (habit) but i dont pull or hold the cd too tight or anything...
20" iMac / 2.16Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo / 1GB Ram / 250GB HDD
