I have eMac
Have a lot of old colour negatives that I would like to load in, then use Photoshop and load to disk
What is available at reasonable price?
I recommend looking for a used Nikon film/slide scanner with a USB interface. A dedicated film/slide scanner will give better results than a flatbed scanner with a transparency adaptor.
A few years ago I picked up an old Nikon LS-1000 with a SCSI interface to use with my old G3 desktop. It worked very well to get all those old family slides into digital format.

Scanner software (and often photo software like Photoshop or VueScan) frequently includes a function to produce a "negative" color version of a scanned image. That's all it takes, really, to give you the "real color" version that you want.
