hi, do 12.5 mm high drives fit in the mac mini or are 9.5 mm drives needed

You actually have a 12.5mm drive big enough to be worth installing? Last one of those I saw was the stock drive in a Wallstreet PowerBook.

Actually, it looks like a 12.5mm will fit just fine from the pics in the Service Manual.
