OK, last night I went to bed, this morning I woke up & checked my mini for new emails, etc. The screen was flashing. I've been using this exact setup for over a month now with zero problems. The only change I made yesterday was to add my powerbook (via ehternet) to the network & connect to it with the mini to transfer some files.

The screen alternates between my desktop & a blue background, devoid of anything else. It seems to happen pretty frequently (every 10-30 seconds or so). It doesn't seem to happen if I'm typing, but the second I stop typing, the screen will go blank again. It almost has the feel of when I used to use a KVM & would shift between two computers using the same monitor & the KVM would switch back & forth between machines until I clicked the key combo to make it stop.

OK, it still blanks out while I'm typing (it just happened) but the typing continues on the machine, so that when the screen comes back up, I am not at the same point in the posting that I was when it disappeared.

I'm using a G4 1.42 mini running OS 10.4.9. Any ideas on what to try to fix this?

I should say, I have tried to restart, but that didn't help.

Did you dislodge your monitor cable at all when you plugged in the ethernet cable from your Powerbook?

Apparently I did. Weird because I was sure that I had screwed down the video connector, but on your suggestion I checked & that fixed the problem. Thanks, that was driving me nuts.
