Hi, I have a late 2006 PowerMac G5, is there a way to hook up one of my old IDE drives to the powermac? Like a special cable or hack anyone knows.

Yes, you can install a Parallel ATA drive in a G5. Or install two, if you replace the optical drive.

Since I had 4 IDE drives full of data, and I only needed to access them all once, I took apart my lacie d2 enclosure, and just connected the cables to each drive to move that data, then re-connected it to the original Maxtor in the d2.

Thanks for your help.
