I purchased an iMac over christmas and my DVD player is skipping almost every dvd I try to play in it. When I look at the DVD's, they are only lightly scratched-- The dvd stops playing and the warning I get is "This DVD may be dirty or scratched."

I'm just wondering if there's a quick fix for this; if not I may have to take it in to be serviced. Thanks!

Um...I'm not much else, I can't really think of much. Is your iMac up to date with all the latest updates and firmware? Which iMac do you have, intel or ppc? I believe there were some firmware updates just before Christmas time...
